Installation Instructions

The following instructions are listed by printer model.   Please follow the instructions appropriate for your printer.

CB-416-T1
Create a temporary directory on your hard drive on your PC.  Put the downloaded file in the temporary directory and double click on the copied file.  The file will "self extract" into two directories in your temp directory.  Make sure that your PC will display hidden files.  Copy the contents of the directory disk1 to a formatted 1.4M floppy disk and label the disk CB-416 Driver Disk 1.  Copy the contents of the directory disk2 to another  formatted 1.4M floppy disk and label the disk CB-416 Driver Disk 2.
To install the TEC B-416 color printer drivers, ensure that the high speed interface is installed properly in your PC (see installation instructions in the user manual - note your base address and interrupt).
Insert the disk marked CB-416  Driver Disk 1 in the floppy drive and run the setup program.

If you are installing the Win'95 version, you will also need to download the patch file.  This patch needs to be placed in your windows\system directory after the normal install is complete.

System Requirements for the  TEC CB-416 Color Printer

  • Processor- 486 or higher

  • Operating System- Windows 3.1/95/98

  • RAM- 16 Megabytes (minimum)

Notes
The TEC CB-416 Color Printer requires an IBM compatible 486 computer or better.  The suggested RAM is 32M, but minimum RAM is 16M.  Testing has shown that 20M or more seems to eliminate the resource errors that occur from running out of memory (usually with 16M of RAM).  The operating system needs to be Windows 3.1, Windows 3.11, or Windows '95.  In Windows 3.1 and Windows 3.11, the virtual memory needs to be turned off.  The PC can be networked, but the CB-416-T1 Color Printer can not be shared (networked).  The TEC CB-416 can print from any program that can print from the Windows environment, including Paintbrush, Notepad, and Wordpad.
