Setting Up and Using the TEC B-X Printer Drivers

The TEC B-X printer drivers have no published documentation.  They are all similar in function and they work the same in both Win3.1x and Win'95.  When setting up the driver, select printer properties.  The following will appear:

Here is where the paper size is selected.  If it is the first time the driver is being used, select paper set and choose "Defining Paper Size".  Name the paper size and the following then appear.  The example is named 4x6.

The driver then asks for the Label Pitch, Print Length, and Print Width.  All of these are in 0.1mm.  The Label Pitch is the gap to gap length of the label.  The Print Length is the actual length of the label.  The Print Width is the width of the label.  For a 4x6 die cut label, the pitch = 1556 (6.125 * 254), the length = 1524 (6 * 254), and the width = 1016 (4 * 254), as shown above.  NOTE - If the printer selected were a B-472, the max print width = 1000 or 3.9".

The default print mode is Batch Mode.  If there is a cutter, then select Cut Mode and enter the interval that is to be cut.  If a peel and strip, or print and present option is installed, then select Strip Mode.

The driver also asks for which type of sensor the printer is using.  In the case of the 4x6 label the printer is using the Transmissive sensor.  The sensor types are as follows:  Transmissive = Gapped Labels or Notched Tags, Reflective = Black Mark, None = No sensor, Transmissive (Preprint Labels) = Gapped Labels that have printing on them.  Please note that for the Transmissive Preprint Sensor, the threshold needs to have been set (See the users Manual).

The default for ribbon is With Ribbon.  If the desired stock was Direct thermal, then there would be no ribbon.

Selecting Entry saves the label size.  If feed or cut adjustments are required, then select Adjust...  The following will appear:

The adjustment increments are in 0.1mm.
